Why wait?
You went to a conference today and met a few investors. It's now night time, and you are going over the business cards you received during the day.

Startup life is often like an arcade style game. Imagine space invaders, or pacman (or maybe candy crush?). Your goal is to pass to the next level, but while you're doing that you also need to try and stay alive. Either one is difficult, and doing both simultaneously is especially tough.
Allow me to start with a small confession: I have a severe allergy to following the rules.
That may be the reason why I decided to invest in startups in Korea, instead of following the well known rule for success and continuing to invest in startups in Silicon Valley (where I lived for 8 years) or in Israel (where I lived for over 30 years). Instead of the #1 and #2 places in the world for startups, I decided to focus on Korea, which isn't even in the rankings yet. There are several logical reasons why I did it, but there's also one illogical reason: I hate following the rules.
If someone ever successfully writes the complete guidebook for startup success, I'm sure it will have lots of conflicting guidelines. Some of those conflicts will be due to circumstances – different stages of the startup require different actions. In other cases, it will be a matter of quantity – like ingredients in a cake.

Ready for some very tough truth? If you're a startup founder, and you're having too much fun, you're doing it wrong. In fact, you're probably on your way to failure.
